The Business Licence
Information Service (BLIS) is a one-stop-shop for high-level
information on a range of Commonwealth, State and Local Government
controls that you must comply with when operating a business (or
occupation) in Tasmania. These controls include licences, permits,
approvals, registrations, codes of practices, standards, guidelines,
etc.
BLIS can help you answer common questions that you might have when starting, operating or expanding a business. For example, a new operator might ask:
- What licences must I have?
- What activities do these licences cover?
- What do I need to have or do to obtain/renew/vary/transfer a licence?
- Who can I talk to/where can I go for more information?
- How much will it cost?
- How do I apply?
- What forms do I need to complete?
- How long will it take to obtain a licence?
- What codes of practice might I need to comply with?
Click on the ‘start
your enquiry’ button to go to the BLIS search page. On this page
you will find a range of searches that will help you quickly
discover information on controls that may apply to your business.
